PRESS RELEASE: SAM KELLY'S STATION HOUSE
SAM KELLY'S STATION HOUSE has been featuring on the UK music scene for many years. Originating from London's 'StationTavern' in the early nineties, Station House was formed from the concept of an all-black blues band, mixing instinctive funk/soul rhythms with the diversity of the blues.
SAM KELLY'S STATION HOUSE is a 'groove' band with dancing very much in mind. Their musical catalogue includes Johnny Guitar Watson, Keb Mo, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Gary Moore, Stevie Wonder, Little Feat to name but a few. Their unique sound is influenced by New Orleans second line, soul, calypso, reggae and British funk. With three 'lead' singers supported by a percussionist and internationally acclaimed drummer, the result is an eclectic fusion of music with its roots firmly based in the blues.

DALLAHAN
Dallahan is one of the fastest rising forces on the international folk circuit, heavily rooted in traditional Irish music but drawing on influences from their mixed Irish,Scottish and Hungarian heritage. Following the release of their debut album 'When The Day is on the Turn' in 2014, which was highly praised by audiences and critics alike, the band toured extensively in North America and Europe, establishing themselves internationally as one of the most enthralling live shows, captivating audiences at such prestigious international events as Milwaukee Irish fest, Celtic Connections and countless other. In December 2015, they were shortlisted for 'Album of the Year' and nominated for 'Folk Band Of The Year' at the Scots Trad Music Awards. on several occasions including Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage and
performed together at a great many events across the west
country including several appearances at Glastonbury Festival.
Upon going their
separate ways Doctor Stomp rebranded to Stompin' Dave and has performed
across the UK and beyond. Dave was nominated for a British Blues Award in the
acoustic act category 2014 and was winner of the
FOAOTMAD old-time banjo competition 2011 and 2013." Oz has performed in
many local bands as well as with some
musicians visiting Dorset such as London based bluesman Errol Linton and zydeco act Flaky Jake.
Oz the perfect foil to Dave’s exuberance adds
backing vocals, guitar, fiddle, and lap steel to Dave’s singing, banjo, guitar, keyboard, fiddle and
flatfoot dancing.

In West Dorset’s highest village, the Evershot Country Fair is an
event for all the family. Watch traditional rural crafts demonstrated
and talk to the craftsmen and women. There are over sixty varied stalls
to browse, a bar, local cider, live music, bouncy castle, games and
ringside entertainment. Lunch options range from traditional hog roast
to ploughman’s lunches, fresh baked pizzas from a wood oven or the
slightly more exotic bison burgers and elk venison stew. Lots of tea,
cake, ice-cream and to perk you up, quality coffee. Our food marquee
provides many interesting goodies from Dorset and beyond. To finish,
take a trailer ride around the beautiful Melbury Estate and deer park.
There is something for everyone.
Van Rouge are back by popular demand to play again on Sunday, 22nd June at the Evershot Country Fair. From midday, the Dorset based six piece covers band will play several session of varied music from Elvis to The Killers, soul, rock and 80’s classics.
